When did you get involved with the SMC? I joined SMC in 2002 and have been on the steering committee since 2004.
What committees are you currently participating in? I am the chairperson of the Realtor Relations committee. We put on several events throughout the year including the SAM Tram tours and the New Home Preview.
I am also on the Major Achievement Awards committee and am an Ambassador for the HBA Membership committee.
What is the best thing about being in the SMC? The people I get to meet and interact with. There are so many good people that not only attend our events, but also give their time to put our events together.
What is the most exciting thing that has happened to you since joining the SMC? I was voted SMC member of the year for 2007. I was thrilled that the work I do was recognized by people who I think put in just as much of an effort as me. It was nice to know that those people felt I was having an impact on the group.
How would you advise someone to get involved with the SMC? This is a question I get all the time......Come to the steering committee meetings to get a feel for everything the SMC has going on, and then start helping out on a sub-committee that interests you. When you work on a committee putting an event together you build relationships with everyone involved.
Do you have someone who goes above and beyond in their commitment to the Sales and Marketing Council? This is your opportunity to let the Metro Orlando home building community know how great your team member is. Submission information.
